My paintings explore subject matter that includes landscapes, floral design, and single blossoms. Formal study of sculpture early in my career led me to create a three-dimensional quality of my paintings, especially in my flowers. I like to focus attention on their vitality, on power and energy expressed through the use of vibrant color and large size.

My landscapes reflect God's magnificence in the vibrant natural palette from which I draw inspiration and scale of my paintings. I am also moved by the power the flower gets from its attachment to the earth. I represent its connection by showing how the blossom is joined to the plant which in turn draws strength and nourishment from the earth.

On occasion, I combine my representational presentation with a transition into the spirit of abstraction, leaving the viewer more flexibility to interpret nature.
